Improve your flock

For fall 2020, we have straws of semen available from Woolfords, one of Scotland’s leading breeders of the North (or Perth) style of Scottish Blackface.

The Hamilton family has been in residence at Woolfords since 1864; it’s the oldest farm continually occupied by one family in Scotland. Located in Cobbinshaw, West Lothian, they have some 1100 ewes over 2200 acres. The ram we are offering displays many of the attributes of our North American sheep, but because our numbers of sheep are limited it is the effect of heterosis that is his greatest attraction. Inseminating your ewes will result in hybrid vigor for your flock. You can expect the first generation offspring to show greater growth and fertility. Traits you wish to emphasize will be positively influenced by breeding to this unique genetic line.
